Can you have people in your life that are negative AND achieve your dreams?

It’s something to think about for sure. Renowned businessman, Jim Rohn, says,

You are the average of the top 5 people you spend time with.

So, that pretty much answers the question doesn’t it?

Sure, we all have our moments, but it’s so true that whatever we focus on... grows.

If we focus on lack, we get more lack.

If we focus on excitement, adventure, fun, love, bliss, appreciation, we get more excitement, adventure, fun, love, bliss, and things to appreciate.

Here’s the thing though.

You can’t just call up your friends and break up with them because you want “better.” It doesn’t work like that, and c’mon that would be so mean!

Bless their hearts, they are probably clueless about how negative they are.

Truth be told, it’s pretty rare to be aware and “awake” about our limiting behaviors. Most of us just go through our day, unconsciously doing what we do.

So, instead of making a list and breaking up with all of your negative friends, here’s what to do instead.

How to Surround Yourself With Amazing People

1. Make a list of all of the qualities you want in the people you surround yourself with.

Some of mine are:

  • Inspiring
  • Passionate
  • Go-Getter
  • Fun
  • Hilarious
  • Adventurous
  • Charismatic
  • Loyal
  • Loving
  • Generous
  • Open-Hearted
  • Courageous
  • Focused
  • Big Thinker
  • Connected
  • High-Vibe

2. Start being the person that possesses those qualities.

It’s not about deleting people from your friends list on Facebook or trying to somehow "find" the right people.

It’s about getting clear about what you want and then rising to become the person that attracts those people, opportunities, and situations.

Our environment is always a mirror match to what’s going on within us.

If we want something different, we have to be prepared to BE different.

Becoming the person that possesses the qualities that we want in the people that we spend time with, is the ONLY way to “find” the people that possess those qualities.

Otherwise, you just repel them because they are not on the same wavelength.

Appreciate the aspects within yourself that match what you want to surround yourself with and work on changing the aspects that don’t.

Step up. Be open to change. Be open to doing things differently than you have in the past.

It may not happen overnight, but you’ll begin to notice a shift. Old friends that are negative will fall away and new friends that inspire you will show up.

BE the person that YOU want to hang out with and new ideas, opportunities, and “seemingly random” meetings will appear that affirm your self-work.

I promise.

And when they do, come back and let me know. I want to hear all about it!

Cheers to ROCKIN’ our dream lives,

Sheila
