Do you ever feel like some people were just born to be skinny—to be able to eat whatever they want and never gain a pound—and you are not because it’s not in your genes.

Well, that belief is not true. This is a myth, and it's a doozy of a myth too, because it’s rooted in a belief that is deeply ingrained for so many people.

From my wisdom and what I've experienced working with clients, it’s not your genes that are keeping you from getting your dream body, it’s your beliefs about your genes that matter.

Take out a sheet of paper and write down your top 5 beliefs about your genes.

  • Do you believe that being overweight runs in your family?

  • Is your Mom overweight and therefore you believe you are destined to look like she does someday?

  • Do you believe that a certain disease runs in your family and that someday there’s a good chance you will get it too?

Now do you really believe that, OR…

Do you believe that you create your own reality—you were blessed with this amazing magnificent living, breathing miracle of a body. A body that is capable of achieving optimal health and optimal body composition solely based on what is happening within your own body?

Bingo. I hope if you've been reading my blog for any period of time, your beliefs are at least beginning to sway toward the latter.

Your beliefs affect your behaviors and cause emotions, and your emotions create very specific physiological responses within your body.

This may be challenging to wrap your head around at first, but skinny people are skinny because of their beliefs, emotions, and their behaviors related to food.

You can learn those same beliefs and behaviors, and create those same emotions too. You have the power to get your dream body and maintain it for good, regardless of your family genetics.

Have you ever noticed that the opposite is true too? When people who have been thin their whole lives begin to listen to the media or people telling them things like:

“You aren’t going to be able to eat that forever, sooner or later your metabolism is going to catch up with you.”

…then that’s when their beliefs begin to change and their body changes as a result.

Now, if you have years of beliefs built up about your heredity and what you can and cannot eat, you aren’t going to be able to shift them overnight. It is a process. The first step is awareness.

This is a big part of what I cover in my program, ROCK Your Dream Body. If you are interested in learning how to free yourself of years of built up limiting beliefs and behaviors, get your dream body, and maintain it for good, grab your copy today:
